My Students

Do you remember how it felt when you worked hours on a project on the computer and you saved it on the computer, and then came back the next day and it was erased. I bet you were frustrated and angry, not only at yourself, but also at the computer, because all of that hard work was gone.

The students at our school are hard-working, but lack some necessary supplies for school work.

Our school is a Title One school, with over 95% of our students economically disadvantaged, but that doesn't stop our students from trying their very best in everything that they do. The teachers at our school are very proud of our students and want to give them every opportunity that we can for them to succeed.

My Project

The flash drives will allow our students to work on their assignments at school and at home. I teach history at our school and we write research papers all of the time in my class and the students also work on them in their language arts class, so with the use of flash drives it will it easier for our students to go from one classroom to another. Individual flash drives will also come in handy, when we are sharing the computer lab with another class, and their computer is in use. Our students will also learn how to save documents from the computer and how to give an oral presentation using PowerPoint in the classroom. This will help prepare our students for not only for higher education, but for also when they enter business world when they are older.

Flash drives will help our students improve their grades because all of their information will all be in one place.

The students would not waste time looking for their documents or have points taken off because they left part of their report at home or did not print it and it was deleted from the computer. The students will be able to use the flash drives in all of their class and will be able to use them when they go to high school.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
