My Students

Pre-kindergarten: the time of discovery! To discover the math world in pre-kindergarten, my classroom must have hands-on learning manipulatives. Our school implemented a pre-kindergarten program last year and because of budget cuts, we have been limited at what we can purchase.

We are a small pre-kindergarten through eighth grade school in Oklahoma.

My class consists of twenty four and five year olds. Because of the demographics of our school we do not get much federal assistance. My students are very tactile learners. They need to touch and manipulate objects to help develop spatial reasoning, problem solving, and language skills.

My Project

My students will be able to have the learning experiences necessary to give them the skills they need to be successful in their school experience. Having a hands-on understanding gives them a stepping stone of knowledge and understanding to be successful in school. With these funds, my class will be able to purchase these items from Lakeshore Learning: Counting Instant Learning Center, a Patterning Instant Learning Center, a Sorting Instant Learning Center, a Shapes Instant Learning Center, a Hands on Instant Learning Center, Comparing Sizes Concept Kit, Sorting Cookies Sheet, Counting Cookie Sheets, Patterning Cookie Sheets, Sort-A-Bug Attribute Center, Count and Link Center, 1" Color Cubes, a Lakeshore Counting Box Complete sets, Lakeshore Math Counters Library 1 and 2 which include these counters: farm animals, bugs, dogs and cats, frogs and turtles, kid counters, wild animal counters, critters, dinosaurs, fruit, sea animals and vehicles.

Your support of this project will give my pre-schoolers the chance to use hands-on materials to learn the basic math skills that they will need throughout their school careers.

Your donations will give us a chance to purchase manipulatives that my class would otherwise not be able to use in my classroom. Thank you so much for your help.
