My Students

Do you remember going into your older sisters closet and borrowing clothes to dress up in. Or borrowing your dads work shirt to dress up like him. I am asking for these items to give my students the opportunity to dress up and look at different work outfits and jobs that might someday do.

The students in which I serve are 3-6 years old with a variety of different abilities.

I teach in a fully inclusive preschool classroom and believe that children can learn from each other with the support from a teacher. We build positive relationships and help children see that everyone is different and although we are different we can all be one as a classroom. The children we serve are a high poverty society in which some kids are searching for a safe place in which to play, grow and learn.

My Project

The resources which I am asking for will give my students the opportunity to dream and imagine a life of a job they may some day do. It will give them the support to relate clothes to a job and push to excel to know what it takes to someday do that job. They will continue to explore and play with each other and use their imagination to build the learning environment and provide dreams that one day we will help them meet.

This project gives all students the ability to imagine someday growing up and picturing themselves as a doctor or fire fighter and no matter where they come from that can do what ever they push to do.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
