My Students

Do you remember what it was like the first time you discovered Play-Doh as a kid? Model Magic is like ten times better! It is the perfect medium for my Kindergarten and first grade art students to use for developing fine motor skills while learning about color theory.

My students attend an urban Title I school where many of our students are living with disabilities.

My students love to work with Model Magic. It really is like magic to them. Model Magic is great for working with my younger students because it is mess free - which is important because I have to teach art in their regular classrooms. Not only is the Model Magic mess free, but the students love to use it and it is the perfect medium to teach students about their primary and secondary colors.

My Project

These resources would be used in ten classes of Kindergarten and first grade students. Students will use the primary colors of Model Magic to make secondary colors. Students will create an art project incorporating the primary colors and secondary colors with the Model Magic. Students will create a silly clown - juggling the color wheel of model magic!

This project is important because I cannot afford in the school budget to purchase Model Magic.

Last year, I purchased the Model Magic for all the Kindergarten and first grade students because I thought the project was very important. Purchasing the Model Magic was expensive and I cannot really afford to do it on my own this coming school year. Please fund this project because it is an important project students love - it will make a difference in their lives.
