My Students

My elementary school is 74 years old and the classrooms are very small. My students need partitions and chair sox to make their space feel more private and so they feel like they have an "office." I always have to tell them to get out a textbook to keep away wandering eyes! This would help us so much!

Our students are amazing kids.

Even though our school is 74 years old and we have more than 500 students, our school is #5 in scores in the state of Tennessee... We have more than 50% free and reduced lunch, but this definitely doesn't keep our students from learning! We have a truly amazing principal and a staff of dedicated teachers. We are trying to make the best of our building situation. Having these privacy partitions and chair sox would help us to try to reach this goal.

My Project

I will be able to give assessments without having to ask students to take out a textbook to block the view of another students eyes to their paper. The chair sox will be great because our chairs now are SO noisy when the students scoot the chairs back. This noise disturbs the classroom downstairs that is directly under my classroom. I believe the combination of these two items will enhance the learning environment in my classroom.

This will make a difference in the learning environment in my classroom by letting the students feel confident about their answers that they write.

Sometimes students will not write what they think because they don't want another student to see their answer. This would be the answer to that problem.
