My Students

Middle School students do not have the computer technology that is needed to do well in school. The world is so techno friendly, however, my middle school students don't even have flash drives to save their school work.

My students are 7th and 8th graders taking a high school credit Keyboarding and Computer Applications courses.

They learn the basics of typing and then use that knowledge to create letters, MLA reports, PowerPoints, brochures, and many other documents that help them with their other core classes.

My Project

My students have access to a computer, a printer, and a local networked server to save their school work. The problem arises when they want to take their work home to work on the school work further. Without flash drives they are unable to save their work from school so that they can take it to their homes or even the public library to finish the assignment.

I am trying to give these students some freedom and flexibility when it comes to their school work.

If they have their school work saved on a flash drive, they can go anywhere where a computer is located and work on their school work. It will teach them responsibility.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
