My Students

My first class to use the circle time rug that I have are now in high school. It's past time for a bright, new rug for my up and coming Pre-K students.

I teach in a low income, rural school.

With the current budget cuts there are no funds available and schools are struggling. My Pre-K students spend a good amount of time on the rug, during circle time and center time. Having a new rug would be a wonderful addition to my classroom and it would also help my students to learn.

My Project

My current rug has seen many better days and many Pre-K students. The new rug would help my students to learn because it has the alphabet and shapes, which is part of the Pre-K curriculum. We have many activities that take place on the rug, such as a farm set, large Legos, Lincoln logs, just to name a few manipulatives. This rug would help the students to use their imagination and creativity.

Some of my students that are now in high school will stop by and invariably say, "You still have that old rug!" It would be nice to surprise those students as well as be an awesome spot for the new Pre-K students.
