My Students

My students have amazing potential. They are energetic and enthusiastic young people who deserve the supplies that they need to express themselves.

My school is a charter school created specifically for children who have been diagnosed with ADHD and Autistic Disorders.

We have around 65 students in our secondary building with over 75% from low income families. Many come from broken homes and difficult pasts. Our school works to empower these students to be successful, make good choices, and become productive members of society.

My Project

We don't have a lot of money for supplies in our art room. The students are really creative and interested in art, but they find themselves using broken pencils and dried up markers. They are in definite need of some quality materials. We need a variety of pencils, erasers, and markers to get their supplies up to par. We have kept the substandard supplies because they are better than nothing, but my students deserve supplies that can truly showcase their abilities! Many of my students are not "good" at school and have a difficult time taking tests and getting good grades. The art room is where they shine. I also have students which are planning on attending college in an art related field, and I can't expect to properly prepare them without better supplies.
