Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

All children face various influences in their world both negative and positive. Our goal is to help the students learn that their positive actions will result in a popcorn reward from the Positive Behavior Support program for being good Frogs!!

Our elementary school serves a very diverse cross section of K-5 students including special needs students.

The Positive Behavior Support Program for being good Frogs includes recognizing students for being Friends, Respectful, On Task, Good Citizens and Safe. Teachers and support staff may give a student a Frog Check. When the student receives 3 of the Frog Checks they are rewarded with popcorn. We feel that encouraging these positive behaviors is key to helping the young people at our school learn to interact with the outside (non-school) world in a healthy, positive manner.

My Project

The Positive Behavior Support program rewards students for positive actions. The students are not only given a reward of popcorn but have a written check which informs their families of the behaviors that are being rewarded. By encouraging the students to actively participate in this program we are instilling core values that will serve them well through their entire life.

The PTA is currently funding our Popcorn reward program.

If a donor would graciously choose to help us with this project the monies from the PTA could be spent in other areas to enrich our students school life.
