This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Mathematics is a difficult subject for many students, especially without the proper technology to learn it.

My students come from all walks of life.

They attend a very old school in an urban environment. Over half of the students at our school receive free or reduced lunch. Even though many of my students say that they are not good at math, they join the math club; they come to the meetings and tournaments just so that they can learn.

My Project

The TI-Nspire calculator is a great new way to learn mathematics! The calculator does much more than what many people think of when they consider a calculator. You can interactively create and draw on the screen. The TI-Nspire gives you the ability to "grab" a graph and move it while seeing how the numbers in the equation change! There are animations, quizzes, self-guided assignments and so much more that they can do than any other technology provides them. 4 TI-Nspire graphing calculators will help my students visualize mathematics in a fun way.

Mathematics is our students' gateway to thinking logically and becoming critical thinkers.

This tool will help my students enjoy mathematics, which will motivate them to achieve more than they think is possible. It will make math fun and interactive for them!
