Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Hakuna Matata! It means no worries and is the tag line for our stage performance of Disney's The Lion King. Unfortunately, the very new "drama club" at our school has one very big problem: How do you put on a stage performance at night when you have minimal light?

This is the question my thirty-five first through fifth graders have asked since we were informed we would be putting on our theatrical performance at night instead of during the school day.

In one of the songs, "I just can't wait to be king", Simba says, "Everywhere you look I'm standing in the spot light." When practicing this song, the student playing Simba asked, "How am I going to be standing in a spot light when we don't have one?"

My Project

For this reason, the teachers in charge of the drama club feel a spot light would be extremely beneficial to our students. Not only will the follow light allow the students to have their special moments on stage, it will also allow the audience to be able to actually see the actors better during the performance.

This follow light will offer the young actors at my school to absolutely have their moments of fame in the spotlight!
