Sharpen Our Pencils So We Can Stay Sharp!

My students need 5 electric pencil sharpeners and 25 individual hand held sharpeners for quiet maintenance throughout the day.

My Students

Sharpeners burn out fast at school! We sharpen hundreds of pencils a day and the motors die after a few months. By funding my proposal you will be providing enough sharpeners to last a year... maybe more!

I teach 1st, 2nd and 4th grade gifted students.

Their brains are sharp... their pencils, not so much. We have been borrowing our neighbor's sharpener for months. My students are hard workers and many are perfectionists. They deserve to have sharp pencil to keep their work looking neat.

My Project

I can picture it now: A classroom where all of the pencils are sharp. No student has to resort to using a pen for math or a marker for writing. Sharp pencils are overflowing the pencil bucket at the front of the room and our time is spent learning, not searching for something appropriate to write with. Ah. Help make this a reality versus the fantasy it currently is for my students and I.

By funding this proposal you will be directly effecting the education of my students.

We will be forever grateful. Maybe we'll even use pencils that are sharpened by YOUR sharpeners to write you lovely thank you notes :)
