My Students

Several months ago I attended a conference that taught teachers how to motivate students to write through film-making. After arriving back to my school I was unable to complete many of the fun projects I learned about due to a lack of equipment.

We live in a small community surrounded by red rock mountains and beautiful desert landscape.

The students at our school are well behaved and respectful of school equipment. They are always eager to try out new supplies to create fun hands-on projects.

My Project

With a camcorder for our classroom, students can become writers, producers, actors, and editors of their very own films. Students will learn fun film techniques and value the importance of writing through the film creating process. They will learn to storyboard, write rough drafts, edit their lines, and finally produce a final film. Every student will be involved due to the large amount of jobs required to make a film.

After spending a week learning how to incorporate film-making into a classroom, it seems a shame to not be able to apply what our school and state deemed a valuable conference.

Help me apply my new knowledge into my classroom by funding this project.
