My Students

Do you remember listening to books and music on tape players? Well we still do, and I can tell you from experience it is very hard to find a song or a certain spot on a tape cassette, and you can always count on it breaking after so many uses.

My class loves listening to music and books.

They are also very appreciative of any donations that are made to us. We recently got a pencil sharpener donated to our classroom and my class treats it with so much care. I am amazed at how something like this can impact so many children in a positive way.

My Project

I have always played a lot of music and books on tape in my classroom. Recently, I had read up on some research about children learning to read quicker by playing songs and having them follow along and sing/read from their own copy. So I have incorporated singing in my daily reading lesson and my class LOVES it.

The iPod will help us get songs and stories in a central location.

It will also help me to preserve them for my many years left of teaching. I will save valuable time when finding certain songs or materials I am looking for. The docking station will allow my children to hear the songs or stories with ease.
