My Students

Students in our area do not know about the growing game of lacrosse. With my students being at the elementary age I want to start with skills that can make them feel good about themselves. I want to use scoops instead of long lacrosse sticks for safety and eye hand coordination.

We are a Florida school with 630 students, minority at 51.4%, free/reduced lunch at 71%.

My students have many challenges in their community but do feel at peace at school. Our struggling students have shown a growth academically and have made us a gold model for positive behavior.

My Project

With the resources I'm requesting it will give my students a chance to learn the game of lacrosse. By me adapting the game to scoop lacrosse it can give all my students in grades 3-5 a chance to feel good about themselves. My students need confident in their ability to try new things in a learning atmosphere.

By receiving these items my students will be able to feel they are important and get excited about having new things to play with.

They will learn about the game,its basic skills, its culture and how they could be a lacrosse play in the future.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
