My Students

Every child is a piece of the future, but many of our classrooms are still using the tools of the past. Enrichment through technology will make them more informed leaders of tomorrow.

I teach a 1st and 2nd grade combination class.

My students come from a high poverty area and are not regularly exposed to technology at home, but I am constantly amazed at how quickly they have mastered basic computer skills and how eager they are to learn new programs and software. For many of my students, the classroom for many is the only opportunity they have to interact with computers.

My Project

I want to create a computer center. With one laptop my students will be able to read electronic books in small groups,and build on their reading and comprehension skills. Another laptop will encourage independent research on famous Americans and allow them to play educational math games that will reinforce their math skills and enrich their knowledge.

With your support, I hope to establish a center that will develop a technology savvy student who will be prepared to face the challenges of the increasingly computer enriched world in which we live.
