My Students

Our school recently transitioned from a Middle School to an Elementary School and our little ones need age appropriate exercise equipment!

Our school is a K-8 Title I school that was at one point a Junior High School and a Middle School.

We are now an Elementary School and our K-8 students are growing into young leaders and thinkers. Our academic scores have grown consistently over the past two years. As a school we have made a tremendous effort to offer art, music and physical education classes to ALL of our students. Unfortunately, due to a shrinking budget we do not always have the funds to purchase age appropriate materials for our little ones. Our students are as enthusiastic about physical education as they are about reading and math. We have two physical education teachers who would LOVE equipment that would meet the developmental needs of our younger students!

My Project

Our school has two gyms- one of which always floods during inclement weather-causing the physical education classes to be held in the classroom. The requested materials can be used to support our students in the gym as well as in the classroom if needed. The beanbags and balls will help support the developmental and cooperative skills needed in a team environment. Our young students can utilize the bowling and jumprope materials in a station setting- allowing them to rotate and collaborate with their peers. They will have hands-on manipulatives to help them develop their gross and fine motor skills- essential to youth development. Moreover, their camaraderie and development as physical education students will be supported and fostered as they move through the grades- these materials can be used for so many different activities which will allow students to continue to utilize the materials as they move through the grades.
