Math Is More Than A Text Book Affair

My Students

Money, it is not equally divided among my student's parents. Having supplies for all to use makes for more equal advantages for everyone. Creativity should not be costly.

Our school is in a county in the middle of the state of Georgia.

Hunting of all types is enjoyed by my students. Most only go to town once a week. Wal-mart is not a daily event for quick needs. Our school is made up of a diverse population, economic as well as cultural. With several children in a family, school supplies can be rather costly for some. Any help is good.

My Project

My students really need markers, construction paper, and colored pencils to do interesting posters for their projects. We will use these resources for making math posters. We have performance tasks to show what we have learned or are learning in math. Students enjoy using these items to show what they know about math, with their creative skills. Using a theme, they decorate a poster displaying properties, word problems, and integers used in math.

Knowing how teachers have lost pay from furloughs and budget cuts, they are not as easily able to help supply the extras for the classroom.

If you are better able to help please do. My students love to color, cut and draw and they don't think they are learning math.
