My students need 5 TAG Reading Systems to help non-readers during literacy centers. We believe in early intervention is the key to reading success!

My Students

Urgent fact!!! My city's fourth graders have the lowest percentage of proficient readers in the nation! This is based on the results from this year's WKCE. My students are desperately in need of something to motivate and inspire them to be readers!

My students attend school in a large urban district in a very low income area.

87% of the students qualify for free or reduced lunch. The majority of the students are African-American. They are inquisitive and fascinated by technology. However, many of my students are not motivated to learn how to read.

My Project

My students saw the TAG Reading System used in library by the library/media specialist. They were so excited! I saw one of my youngest students "read" a book for the first time! These systems would be incredible to use during literacy centers. We spend hours printing and stapling paper books for our lowest readers to use (most published books are too difficult) during their independent reading center. These systems would make it possible for our lowest readers to truly become "readers".

If you can inspire even one student to use this system and be a better reader, you will have made a difference!

Some students just need something to get them excited about reading...the TAG system could be it! What a cool way to read and learn!
