My Students

We had a quest speaker come to our classroom and her motto was: "Look forward and dream big." How can my students achieve that goal when we go through supplies like water????

My students are hard workers.

The school that I work at and that they go to is a partial magnet but they are not that fortunate. My students families struggle to make ends meet and it is much worst in the economy today. To ask for simple supplies is like pulling teeth for my parents. They are very supportive but only can do what they can.

My Project

These simple supplies will bring smiles of joy to my student's faces. They LOVE to color with color pencils. We will use the sentence strips for various lessons from science to math. In Math, we do a place value game that the students have to be able to tell the number correctly using the place value and see if they made a bigger number than their partner. In Science, we use the colored pencils and sentence strips to show Newton's laws of motion. And who does not need pencils??? That is what moves our class! To tell you honestly, sometimes while teaching I get great ideas that I end up using these types of materials.

My students will be impacted because they learn so much better with hands on materials than me just sitting up in the front of the room lecturing to them.

They seem more engaged in the lesson then just daydreaming about what they will be doing for the weekend.
