My Students

Do you remember when the teacher announced it was time to write a paper. The cringe on your face said everything. Imagine on top of that you also have difficulty with processing and sequencing information. These material will help teach the writing process while making it fun and interesting.

The students I teach are range from students with Emotional Behavior Disorders to Mildly Intellectually Delayed.

The students enjoy reading, but continue to have difficulty when it is time to write their own thoughts on paper. The students enjoy school and need additional encouragement to try something new. My students have difficulty expressing their thoughts and following the correct order of the writing process. The Step-by-Step (4-5 grades) and Writing Activity Station (1-3) will give students a creative and ordered way to make writing interesting. The reading Trackers (4-5 grades) will help the students read information and their writing carefully and allow them to critique themselves. The Word Wands (1-3 grades) will help them read their writing carefully and be their own checker.

My Project

The writing materials provide additional support for students that need help with the writing process. The materials can be used in reading as well to enforce reading appropriately. Materials requested provide the opportunity for students to work at their level of learning and increase their knowledge of the writing process.

The material will help the students become more involved with writing.

Challenging them to become more creative in their thought process with supporting knowledge that they have learned from the writing materials.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
