My Students

Why take turns to see what we are working on when it could be projected for all to see at once.

My students are in grades 10 and 11 at a college preparatory high school in a low income neighborhood, with most of the population receiving free lunch.

They are highly motivated and look forward to not only graduating, but attending colleges of their own choice. Most of my students will be the first to graduate from a high school in their families.

My Project

Some students learn well when class instruction involves tangibles, they can feel/touch. Others have other modes they prefer like visual. The document camera being requested for will go a long way to impact my students' learning via preferred different modes of learning. Rather than taking turns to see materials/documents pertaining to the instruction, they could be capture and projected for the large class to see at the same time. This equipment will reduce if not eliminate class downtime, enhance the effective use of class time.

The document camera will encourage my students to share their ideas with their peers without having to take turns to share with groups in a large class setup.

Time becomes available for more information to be share within the normal class time.
