Our classroom is in a modular outside and so our floor is often freezing cold. I teach 20 amazing third graders in a high-needs diverse community. We love to lay on the floor and work but sometimes it's just too cold. We have a thin area carpet in our meeting space but it's not thick enough to block out the cold and it's not comfortable to sit on. The rest of the floor is not covered with a rug so the white tiles are freezing in the winter, especially in the morning hours. My Project: We would absolutely love a cheerful, soft, colorful and warm rug for our meeting area so we could lay on the floor and work in the winter. Our classroom space is tiny and we would love to be able to use all of the space in our classroom all year round. We would read books, play math games, write stories, share our science journals, talk, laugh, and enjoy learning on our new rug together. Please help fund our new rug so we have a comfortable and warm place to meet and work. hide» My students need a new carpet to cover the cold floor and brighten up the room. details»
