My Students

More and more children are choosing to sit in front of the television and play video games rather than playing outside and getting physical exercise. It is important for us to remember that our students need a lot of physical activity in their day to develop properly.

I am a third grade teacher at a school where most of the students come from poverty level homes.

A lot of my students also tell me that at home they play a lot of video games, rather than going outside to play. One of my students' favorite times of the day is our recess time.

My Project

Unfortunately, on our playground, we have only one swing set with six swings and one jungle gym for 170 students to share. Throughout the course of this past year, my co-workers and I have began purchasing many different materials for our students to play with on our playground. The ball cart we are asking for would be to help us carry these materials to and from our playground more easily. I am also asking for more playground balls, jump ropes, and hula hoops so more children will be able to play with the materials.

Help use keep our third graders active by having the materials for our students to play with and enjoy on the playground.

They and we will be grateful for any help that you can give this project.
