Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We've all been faced with a situation where the effort we put into a project just wasn't reflected in the finished project. Many of my students are extremely hard-working, but they lack the organizational, artistic, or even basic motor-skills to properly document their effort.

I am an elementary science teacher in an urban environment.

I teach science to grades 3-6, and many of my students come to school from several nearby homeless shelters. My school serves many underprivileged kids, and I would love to ensure that my classroom is both fun and educational.

My Project

A color printer will make a huge impact on my students' work. Students will finally be able to fully utilize our classroom computers, and transform their work from plain pencil on lined, eraser-smudged paper, to neat text and colorful images on crisp, white paper.

Imagine how much my students' self-esteem will rise when their first project emerges from the printer!

Even though the amount of thought and effort that goes into the work is the same, everyone will benefit when the document's true beauty is allowed to show through, and not hidden behind crossed-out words and crumpled edges.
