My Students

Ex-soldier turned teacher needs help teaching little troopers at a school on a military base. As a former military woman I am honored to teach the children of men and women who are protecting our country. I teach second grade at a school located within a proud military community in South Carolina.

My students are children who are eager and willing to learn.

We recently obtained a Flip Video Camera, as a result the children have been filming video diaries and book talks. They have also written and produced educational music videos. We now desperately need a computer to publish the videos on DVD. These little people enjoy using technology however; a very tight budget is limiting the amount and type of technology that is available. The Macbook will provide an opportunity for the children to share their learning experiences with one another. We really hoped we would get one this year however, due to the economic situation all hopes of getting a Macbook funded is gone. The schools will be terribly underfunded this year and there is no room in the budget for our much wanted and needed Macbook.

My Project

We need a Macbook because it will not only allow students to share their knowledge and ideas with one another, it will also allow them to write, produce and publish, video diaries, book talks and educational music videos. The students will benefit from this project because it will be used in all subject areas and will be useful for many years and help hundreds of students.

Your help will ensure that my students have every opportunity to succeed in life.
