Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Are you competitive? My students LOVE taking timed tests, using whiteboards for math learning, and timing each other for various games/exercises.

My students need to learn about better time management and being efficient with resources.

They have math daily for one hour and thirty minutes, of which that time is broken off into various activities. For example, they take a three-minute timed multiplication and division test daily. Instead of running MANY copies and killing trees, I'd rather use sheet protectors and fine point dry-erase markers for their daily practice.

My Project

My students also love being the time keeper for games and daily group activities. During math centers, one student is accountable for keeping track of time in the group. My students cannot wait to continue learning with their whiteboards, but as we run low on EXPO dry erase markers, that may not happen.

I reached an "AHAH" moment in my teaching career when I saw my students using whiteboards to learn.

Every student was thrilled to have his/her own way to show learning, just with a whiteboard and a dry erase marker. Whiteboards can last forever, but those dry erase markers sure need replacement often. Please help!
