My Students

My students could use a little help in staying focused during learning times. Our school has had to cut our budget for supplies and equipment to bare necessities in order to preserve our arts.

Our special education kindergartners are full of energy and potential.

They attend an elementary school that integrates the arts and encourages creativity, movement and music, and self expression. But we also have high expectations for academics. Getting children to slow down and focus helps everyone make the most of their potential.

My Project

In a previous Donor's Choose project, I received six of the cushions. However, with 12 students on my caseload, we do not have enough to go around. Six more cushions would help tremendously. The squeeze balls allow them to do something with their hands and the grabbers are for children who need something to chew on to stay focused.

I have seen the changes that these materials can make in increasing successful learning times.
