This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Fine motor skills are an essential part of every day living and a skill that many of us take for granted as a naturally developing skill. This is a skill that most have had to work minimally at mastering. This is not true for my students.

My classroom is composed of ten students, nine boys and one girl.

The grade levels of my students ranges from kindergarten to second grade. All of my students have moderate/severe Autism. We are a special education classroom in a public school setting.

My Project

Each of the resources that I have requested will help my students develop their fine motor skills in different ways. The overall effect of using all of the materials will be children who have no problems using writing instruments correctly, are able to write independently, and are able to dress independently. Their fine motor skills will be developed so that they are able to manipulate small objects without feeling or looking clumsy and awkward. These objects will help them so that they have an easier time holding and manipulating silverware to eat with. The ways that my students can benefit from these few materials are endless.

Your donations toward this project will give ten lucky children much needed materials to develop their fine motor skills.

This development of skills will allow them to participate in every day activities that we take for granted.
