Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Remember what is was like to receive a new gift for your birthday even as simple as a ball. My students lack that wonderful experience, they often don't receive those basic tools to help with their development.

I teach at a Title 1 school and 95% of my students receive free and reduced breakfast and lunch.

They often are excited with basic things like being able to take a bath each evening or even finally getting a bed in their room. They also are just excited to come to school because it is the only thing that is the same each day. We are in a Pre-K classroom so we don't get the opportunity to go to the gym and work on our large motor skills. Since my students don't always have the items at home to do this either they really need them to excel.

My Project

Having large motor items in our room will give me the opportunity to teach the children more about coordination. It will also help them develop skills they might not be able to develop otherwise. The children at the Pre-K level need a lot of large motor time in and out of the classroom.

This project will help the kids in so many ways we will be able to work on motor skill each and everyday.

My students need large motor activity items (balance beam, tunnel, parachute CD and an active play kit) to help them in their motor development. I would be so excited to have these tool to help the students walk and learn to keep their balance and learn other skill like jumping rope. It will be a great benefit to them.
