My Students

My students face an ever-increasing need to join the global economy. This high-definition technological instrument will facilitate student presentations and other class-related visuals. If they can not use technology efficiently, they will not be able to thrive in the upcoming job market.

I serve a high population of Special Needs students in an inner-city high school in Milwaukee.

Considering that my students live in a metropolitan area, it is critical that they gain experience with computers, multimedia presentations, and other technological advancements that will facilitate their introduction into the workforce. The school my students attend focuses on business, trade, and technology, which will be particularly relevant for those students seeking skills.

My Project

I have requested one LCD projector. With this donation, students will be able to promote their business skills, through various entrepreneurial ventures, and explore new avenues for their business relations. In addition to that, students will be better able to present their products in a positive light. During our Media Communication class, students will be able to showcase PowerPoint presentations, commercials, newscasts, and visual aids they create while studying and producing projects that promote media literacy. Aside from that, students will also use the LCD projector to evaluate commercial websites and the marketing techniques they employ. Last but not least, students will use the projector for studying when we play a Jeopardy review game, which contains content from the previous classes.

The inclusion of the LCD projector in our classroom will increase our students' ability to understand media and build their fluency with the technology and evolving industry.

Additionally, the project will allow students to learn content in a more engaging format. Without the incorporation of the LCD projector, students will find it more difficult to acquire the skills necessary to compete in a global environment.
