"For so many of us, it is easy to grab a pen and a sheet of paper and quickly write a letter to a friend, or simply write the grocery list. I would love these simple tasks to be this easy for my students.

I am a third-grade teacher at P.S 48, which has been named the "Best School in the Universe!" My classroom is an inclusive one, and what this means is there are children with various disabilities merged with general-education students. Because of this fact, I am constantly searching for ways in which I can make the attainment of an education a fun, painless experience. More than 70 percent of the students are performing below grade level. The workload is becoming more and more challenging, and many of my students feel that they just cannot keep up.

As their teacher I try to make them see that reading and writing are everywhere and in everything that we do. I feel that gaining additional resources can only benefit my students and bring them closer to becoming more confident individuals. By having a section in my library with only math books, I plan to show my students how reading and mathematics are connected. The nonfiction writing books that I am requesting are to help me as a teacher gain more knowledge that I can use to better teach my students.

The cost of a set of third-grade math reading books from LeapFrog Schoolhouse is $174, including shipping and fulfillment ?.

Dreams do come true! Thanks to your generosity the students of class 3-6 as well as my future students now have additional resources which will guide them along in their journey through writing.
