This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Reading is very important, and we want to encourage good reading habits by creating a comfortable environment and by allowing students to choose a spot in the classroom to read silently. The bean bags and mats are easily moved around and can even be carried to other spots in the school.

The school is located in a part of a city where most families live in poverty.

The school is considered Title I. It has a large diversity of students, mostly low income and military students. Parents are hardly involved in the students' education, and they lack good studying habits. These students need a lot of motivation.

My Project

I believe the classroom is a home away from home, and creating a safe, comfortable environment is always important. It helps keep them motivated, and they take initiative in wanting to learn more. Allowing students to have the freedom to choose where and how they want to get their work done or read silently will help students to look forward to reading time.

You will make a difference in these students' lives by giving them the comfort to get their work done with these bean bag chairs and mats.

You will be giving them the opportunity to have some freedom and fun at the same time during school hours. You will encourage them to want to read and motivate them to continue good studying habits. Thank you!
