Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Have you ever wondered about the many uses of water? It's everywhere, and aids us in so many things. My students would love the opportunity to learn about water's many uses, where it's located on Earth, and what is contained in the water we use everyday.

My students are 4th and 5th graders in a medium poverty environment.

Their school is 50 percent free and reduced lunch. They often do not have the opportunity to do science experiments because they are so focused on reading and math. They love the opportunity to learn new things, and thrive when they can go off campus and learn in their environment. Our school has recently become an outdoor education school in an attempt to motivate our students to learn. This project would help with our goal of outdoor education.

My Project

My students need labs to test drinking water, pond water and waste water, biome posters, a decomposition kit, and a book on watersheds. My students would love to have the opportunity to learn about the world around them. With the water sampling kits, the decomposition kits, and the biome posters, my students will learn about the environment, and learn about their role in positively impacting the world they live in.

Please, take the time to help my students in their endeavors to learn about their environment.

Water is so important, and my students need the resources to do these science experiments and learn about the water around them.
