My students need 40 headphones to use an online reading program called Tumble Readables.

My Students

I teach in a school of 220 students. 50% have IEPS. Most of my students struggle to read and write.

My students come to school without the basic materials they need in class.

Headphones are even harder to come by. These same students really enjoy reading using this online program. This is the most success I have had all year with independent reading.

My Project

I have found great success with my group of struggling readers when using TumbleReadables (http://www.tumblebooks.com/tumblereadable/). This is an amazing program that reads books to kids using a real person and not a computerized voice. They need headphones for the program.

A pair of headphones for each student would ensure that each of my students read for at least 35 minutes every single day.

Studies show that consistent reading helps with literacy as well as self-confidence in students. Please help make this possible.
