My Students

Help us make murals to creatively express ourselves! Money for supplies can be scarce at times, so we need your help for our cause.

I have over 800 students in a low income school.

I teach K-8, so I have a variety of students who get so excited about art and want to express themselves in new, inventive ways. Inspiring this many children can be difficult with the lack of resources needed to do so. Therefore, we need your help!

My Project

We are creating group murals to hang up around the school. I got wooden sheets donated to us to paint on already. Now all we need are acrylic paints and covered pallets, which is to prevent waste. The murals will have approved themes, and they will work in groups of 5 to 7 to finish them. Each student will be able to incorporate a little piece of their personality into this mural and share it with the school.

Sometimes school is the only safe haven a child has; and sometimes art is the only way these kids get a chance to create things and express themselves in healthy, meaningful ways.

Encouraging this is my goal as an art teacher. I want for my students to be able to use their art as a diary and something they can look forward to.
