My Students

"Be the change you want to see in the world," Mahatma Gandhi challenged. My students seek to rise to this challenge. These alternative students need to learn what is required to be productive citizens.

This alternative school instructs a diverse population of students with multiple learning levels, multiple learning styles, and multiple abilities.

Students are sent to this school for problems in behavior, attendance, and academics. They are frequently challenged with an array of adverse situations detrimental to their success in life: poverty, abuse, drugs, social outcasts, and so much more. To become successful in the community, these students need to learn the rules of citizenship.

My Project

These books will aid in reaching the multiple levels of student abilities not offered by the traditional classroom setting. These children have attended regular classrooms and have been taught by traditional means; they have been unsuccessful. They need to be reached in new and innovative ways.

Students who have social, economic, and academic challenges like these students frequently become burdens to the community as they enter the welfare or prison systems.

With immediate action in education, these students have a greater chance to become productive, law-abiding citizens.
