My Students

Childhood is very important in a person's life and a happy and healthy one is even more critical. I see everyday kids with no motivation,bad attitude and behavior. Many of them don't look happy,they somebody to tell them that everything is Agathe don't know how to express their feelings and concerns.

My students are from low income families.

The divorce rate is high and dropouts too. Many of my students live in shelters for abused families. They have a lot of absences and when they come to school, they don't bring materials and most of the time they don't eat their daily meal.

My Project

We need paint brushes, acrylic and watercolor paper and paint, paper rolls for students' sketches, pencils, gloves, and baskets and canvas for students' final masterpieces. These materials will help my students complete their special projects. This project will use art lessons in order to help students express what they are feeling inside, to express it in a picture or self-portrait. I want them to discuss and talk about their final project in a "Gallery Night."

I know this is an important project to do with my students.

They will feel special and recognized and they will be involved in an educational but different teaching strategy that will motivate them. For one moment they will be able to think about good things that also happen in life, to learn to have hope in others.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
