Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Learning about American history through historical fiction is an amazing adventure everyone should experience.

The majority of my students come from low income families with little experiences of the outside world.

Many receive very little help with their education. The students want to learn and are interested in learning about the world around them. Our school provides them with the best opportunities for education that we can. Our goal is to inspire and educate them and make them life long learners.

My Project

The American Girl Series is rich in American history. The stories are informative and entertaining for both girls and boys as well. Each collection teaches about different periods of time America. They teach what life was like at that time and what important historical events were taking place. They learn about Addy, a little slave girl who escapes with her mother to freedom with the help of the underground railroad. Molly, a girl whose father is a doctor and must go and serve in World War II. What was life like at that time? What did the people in the states do to help the war effort? They will learn about Kirsten and her family who come from Sweden to the United States. What was life like for a family immigrating to our country? Sharing these awesome stories will enrich my student's lives in American history. These books are great to read at particular times of the year when learning about Black history or about veterans and what all have done to make our country great.

These amazing book series will enrich my student's live in American History.

They will help give them a better understanding at their level of how our country was formed and the contributions and sacrifices others have made to make our lives better and our county an amazing place to live. Thank you for your help in enriching children's lives.
