My Students

My students start learning in photo class how to use film SLR. I want them to have the opportunity to translate their knowledge they have learned with film into the digital age. It is more cost effective and they will have the opportunity to work with color.

My students are juniors or seniors who have successfully completed photo 1.

Several of them have found a passion for photo and want to go on the next level and even study photo in college. Our location is a coastal location, so the students are heavily influenced by the beach and river. There are great opportunities for landscape photos.

My Project

The students will be able to check out the Digital SLR Camera for the week or weekend and use their photo skills to capture color photos and be able to digitally edit their photos which is more cost effective. We have entered some local and regional contests and have won several. I think with better camera equipment the students have more potential to take better quality photos with advanced equipment.

This camera will help several students make the decision whether they want to invest in a digital SLR and go to the next level, by giving them the experience with the camera and see all that the camera allows them to do.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
