This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Albert Einstein once said that "it is the supreme art of the teacher to awaken joy in creative expression and knowledge." I try to awaken that joy every day with the gifted students in my classroom.

I teach Reading and Language Arts to fifty gifted students in grades one through five in a high-need community with a primarily minority population.

Many of these students are also ESL (speakers of English as a Second Language). These students are curious about the world around them, and always interested in learning new things.

My Project

This year I am starting a Geography Club in my school in order to prepare for the annual Geography Bee. It is the first time our school has participated, and the students need resources to help them prepare! These student atlases will help my students prepare for this competition as they learn about the world around them.

Help build my students' confidence as they study and prepare as a team to show what they can do at our local Geography Bee!

Give them to motivation to reach for any goal, because with hard work and dedication, any goal is attainable!
