Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Computer technology is here to stay. Students need to keep up with the current technology or they risk falling behind their peers and not having the chance to excel and be successful.

My students are from an inner city district that is mostly Hispanic and lower income.

Many come form single parent households and have emotional baggage that is holding them back. They do not have access to the latest gadgets that their counter parts in more affluent districts do. They are very bright students for the most part and just need that little spark of inspiration, and to see that someone cares to get them to succeed.

My Project

I am requesting this LCD Projector for my students to use so that they can showcase their talents to their peers. I am lucky in that my classroom does have computers for my students to use. I have them create computer based projects as often as I can. While learning the class material, they are also learning computer skills that will be valuable to their future. My students take great pride in their work and want to show off their work. For now, that means a class full of students must huddle around one computer. The full effect of the presentations are lost an a small screen. With a projector, my students can show off their work to the entire class at once. Larger than life. Being able to use this tool will boost their confidence in their work and their use of technology.

Being from an at needs district, my students do not have the opportunity that others do to use the latest in technology.

Donating this equipment will not only raise the bar for my students today, but for many years to come. This tool will enrich the life experiences of many, many students for a very long time.
