My Students

Do you remember how nervous you were to raise your hand and answer a math question in class?

My students are from low-socioeconomic neighborhoods.

The school is a title 1 school. Most of the students are on free-reduced lunch program, and can't afford to buy their own markers. The most of students are below grade level in their math skills. White boards can help improve their math skills.

My Project

The use of white boards eliminates that anxiety but yet gets every student involved in the math instruction. Every student will work on math on their board and show the teacher without the fear of embarrassment if incorrect. The teacher can review and support more students in a limited amount of time.

This with provide ALL students in the class access to the mathematics.

Students are much more willing to be involved in the classroom activity when it includes the use of whiteboards.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
