My Students

My students are dreaming about reading chapter books some day! With these supplies, their dream can come true.

My students are from a small Iowa town.

Our community is under 5,000 people, families are involved in their child's education. Most students come from middle class families and our school has a stable population. We have four sections of kindergarten with about 20 students in each class.

My Project

These supplies will make it possible for students to work at their level on the skill that they require. Most of the supplies requested will be put in literacy centers and used by individual and small groups of students. Many of the activities are self directed and students will be able to practice their pre-reading skills at their pace. This will allow me to work with individual students on the particular skills they need more practice and help with.

Preparing students for success in reading is so important and necessary for their self esteem.

The games and supplies requested, will allow children to practice their pre-reading skills in an active, entertaining way. Learning while having fun!
