My Students

"The trouble with measuring is its seemingly simplicity". You can always use a piece of string to measure length, but wouldn't it be nice to have your own personal measuring tools to more accurately measure the length, width or mass of other objects.

Our class is an inclusion classroom which is made up of special education students,students of different languages and regular education students in second grade.

These students need visual and hands-on tools to help enhance their understanding of measurement. Our schools main focus for improvement is in the area of measurement. These tools will help assist us in our small group instruction to reinforce the measurement standards and to show growth in this area.

My Project

These products will allow our students to learn, re-create and apply real world situations using measurement in the classroom. This will increase their understanding of how to use different types of tools to measure different objects and help to meet our state standards.

These materials will help engage our students in learning different types of measurement units and to use different measurement tools to compare length, weight, capacity and volume.
