My Students

Imagine being 6-years old and unable to investigate the new class pet because you don't have the mobility to get there. Currently our pictured students lack the strength and coordination to move about their environment independently, but all of them have the potential to become independent movers.

My school is a school for students with multiple disabilities.

The students in our class picture are between the ages of 5 and 8 years old. They love to play games and explore on the computer. They love to interact with adults and other classmates. Each child has brain damage. Many have Cerebral Palsy or other developmental delays which have resulted in motor dysfunction. This group of students have the potential to move more independently around their environment with the help of specialized equipment. Due to our changing student population, adaptive equipment has become more and more necessary.

My Project

The Creepster Crawler allows for the development of the body's core muscles. It helps to increase muscle tone and coordination allowing for an increase in all mobility skills. The Creepster will provide a fundamental step in the overall motor development in these children. Our students will get the taste of freedom as they move about their environment using their new Creepster Crawler. Coordination and total physical well-being will be improved.

We have students whose educational potential and overall health will greatly improve if we acquire the Creepster Crawler.

The end result of using this equipment will reduce spinal deviations, pulmonary problems and increase cardiovascular health which will possibly prevent invasive surgeries, painful bracing or preventable health related issues. Our students rise to the challenges they face with hope and determination. Help us help them!
