This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

In a high needs school summer vacation is a teacher's worst nightmare. Our teachers can not enjoy their summer vacation because they are worried about the children in our school losing reading skills over the summer time.

We are a high needs school in an urban environment in NYS.

These children do not always have the best home lives but they are focused on learning and doing well in school. Our school tries hard to provide these children with the education that all children in the United States deserve.

My Project

We are asking for enough DVD recordable Cd's to provide every student with a DVD recording of our very own teachers doing Shared Reading of our favorite books from Kindergarten, and a few that will be seen in the beginning of first grade. This could help our school improve the regression we see from a majority of our students over the summer vacation. Students will come to first grade ready to tackle the new subjects and excitement of the older grade!

Your donation will help our students to read over the summer even when their parents are at work helping to feed their families.

This will provide a fun way for the kids to read without even knowing it!
