My Students

In the orchestra family, it is quite easy to obtain a violin. Violas are just slightly harder to acquire, and since everyone loves the cello, they are easy to come by.. but finding a bass... that is the real trick!

I work at a "title one" school.

What this basically means is that we suffer from low test scores, and children who are more concerned with finding their next meal than renting a good instrument. But don't let "title one" fool you. My kids are positive, fun, and amazing people. We are the String Orchestra and we tour, compose our own music, record, perform for our community, and now we need your help!

My Project

A lot of our instruments have seen better days. Some, like our basses, are nothing but eye-sores, and in barely playable condition. I admire the way my students look past the quality of the instruments, and without a complaint work hard, practice, and perform beautiful music.

I want my students to have better instruments- ones that don't hurt their fingers to play, that make weird buzzing sounds, that are hard to tune, and that have bad tone.

Donating a nice instrument to our program would bring more music, enjoyment, and eduction to our classroom than ever before. Thanks for your consideration!
