A Lamp To Enlighten My Students About History

My students need 2 replacement lamp bulbs for an LCD projector in the classroom.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Teaching in the 21st century requires teachers to be up to date with technology and to expose their students to many forms of media, resources, and history to make them prepared citizens who can make opinions on their own. They need a way to see the world in the classroom, and this project will help.

My students are in either 10th grade Modern World History or Advanced Placement World History.

I am a teacher at an inner city public high school. The school has a mission to guide students to success in college, leadership, and life by organizing and maintaining a rigorous academic program, as well as making them well-rounded individuals who participate in community service and collaborative teams and clubs. A majority of the students are sons and daughters of immigrants or immigrants themselves.

My Project

I am requesting two replacement lamps for an LCD projector in my classroom for my lessons on a daily basis. My classroom is based on World History standards that ask the students to evaluate and become critical thinkers of problems in history. However, a lot of this history becomes lost without lots of excellent visual aids to help see concrete examples of how the world was back in time. When we study the French Revolution, I can project images of art work inspired by the Revolution and then make them create their own artwork based on these projections. I can project student-made WWI propaganda videos or student-made news reports on the Cold War with these projection lamps. With these lamp replacements, you are ensuring that my students will have visual aids for the next 6 years.

This donation will make an immediate impact in the classroom because the LCD projector lamps need to be replaced immediately.

In this time of economic crisis, schools' budgets are being cut. It is a great time to know that generous people like you want to ensure that our students' education is not impacted because of this.
