My Students

"Never let someone steal your opportunity to learn "I tell my students .The first day of school my personal laptop was stolen overnight.4 years of lessons,documents,and student work stolen! My students need to have security and technology replaced. They need to believe thieves lose out and we win!.

My sixth grade students love their school, classroom and teacher.

They feel safe the 6-8-12 hours they are on campus. But when thieves break the doors, jam open cabinets and take what belongs in the classroom, they feel like they have had their opportunities, safety and education stolen. Having the personal laptop I used in class taken,stole their trust. Having 2 new net books delivered would give them back the hope that people really do care, and there are good people out there! They would replace it themselves if they could, but most have reduced or free lunch, and many families have lost their jobs and homes. My kids are the best at making do. Please allow them to do,to make and to replace the stolen piece of technology to help them shine and to believe in good!

My Project

Having 2 HP net book mini computers will return trust in others foremost to their classroom. They will be able to use the net books to create brochures, newspapers, videos,and power points in math and Science units. They will create graphs to represent data in math, and will have a computer to connect to the donated  projector in the classroom. All students will be engaged and will see clearly with the new HP net book connected to the projector, projects,research and lessons created by classmates. Two net books will be shared among 56 students, as they download their flash drive and project discs to share "live".Hp minis are the right size to easily take to the school vault each night for security and transport daily, without the fears of the thieves breaking in again. My students will learn beyond math and science that I will not let any one take away their right to learn or to steal their opportunity to learn. They will learn to cherish these gifts and know good people win over bad

My project is vitally important to return technology to the Math and Science classroom,but more so,to reinforce in my students that we can overcome those that steal.

That we can learn despite the odds, and that we will not let anyone steal the opportunity from them to learn. They will regain confidence that others care,and that school is safe and secure. Donors will impact my students with HP net books but most importantly  a life lesson to never let anyone steal their dreams and opportunities.
